Research interest

We are interested in functional genomics; particularly we study the resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, the molecular physiology of tropical fruit ripening, we work on molecular breeding for the agro export industry and in medicinal plants. Now the GRU is the Peruvian counterpart of the potato genome sequencing consortium.

We are initiating the setup of a genomics research unit, so far we count with all the facilities of a normal molecular biology laboratory.
